Frequently asked questions

Is there an API to find the owner name from an address?

Yes, BatchData Property Lookup returns the owner of one property, with the owner's name and mailing address in every Property Data plan. Property Search finds properties by owner name, owner type or number of properties held. Owner files also come in bulk.

Is the owner data on the same record as the assessor data?

Yes, BatchData's owner fields sit on the same property record as the assessor data. The Property Owner Profile adds 10 fields on what the owner holds, as an add-on to a Property Data plan.

What is in BatchData's property owner data?

BatchData's property owner data has 20+ fields, such as the owner's names, the mailing address and whether the owner lives at the property. It also shows whether the owner is an individual or a company. It also holds the type of ownership, the ownership start date and the time at the property. The Property Owner Profile add-on adds 10 fields on the owner's holdings, such as the number of properties and the total equity.

How can I tell if a property owner is an investor?

BatchData does not label an owner as an investor. The Property Owner Profile add-on shows the holdings you judge it by: properties held, total equity and value, and mortgage count and balance. Property Search also filters on owner type and on the number of properties held.

Can I find all the properties one owner holds?

Yes, BatchData Property Search filters by owner name and by the number of properties an owner holds. One search lists the properties under one owner name. The Property Owner Profile add-on adds the count of properties and the total equity that one owner holds. Owner files also come in bulk.

Is the owner's mailing address always the property address?

No, BatchData returns the owner's mailing address as its own field, separate from the property address. It also reports owner occupancy and any vacant mailing address. Each mailing address comes with a delivery check, and owner files also come in bulk.
